Antiwrinkle Injections

Antiwrinkle Injections

Anti Wrinkle Injection is a method of skin treatment that uses the injectable purified protein which works against the wrinkles on the skin. This is an effective method of treating the wrinkles, fine lines and sagging skin. Moreover, it also works very well in contouring the face.

How do these anti-wrinkle injections work?

Botulinum toxin blocks nerve signals to muscles. As a result, injected muscles can’t contract (tense up). These effects are always temporary, but can last for several months. The muscle injected depends on the primary area of concern. Several areas can be treated in one session.

Key benefits of Anti Wrinkle Injections:

Anti Wrinkle Injection injections are very useful. The major benefits that one can get from this treatment are

Crow’s feet: Fine lines near the corner of the eyes are caused by the repetitive smile.

Frown lines: Lines between the eyebrows and horizontal lines which can go across the forehead are treatable by this treatment procedure.

Bunny lines: Wrinkles on the nose that appear when squinting or scrunching the face.

Marionette lines: Lines that run vertically from the corners of the mouth down to the chin, giving a ‘marionette’ appearance.

Platysmal bands/ neck lines: Are you bothered by the appearance of vertical neck bands that make you look older than you feel? Say goodbye to platysmal bands and accentuated neck lines with the help of antiwrinkle injections!

Botulinum toxin injections are also used to enhance facial features and contours as well, apart from its anti-ageing benefits.

Contouring jaw line: Anti Wrinkle Injection successfully redefines and shape up the jawline on your face. A Nefertiti lift is a cosmetic procedure performed with botulinum toxin injections in the lower part of your face, jaw, and neck for a chiselled sharper look.

Eyebrow lift: With age, eyebrows begin to droop. This method can treat this condition very effectively.

Gummy smile: A gummy smile, or excessive gingival display, is a common aesthetic concern that can cause self-consciousness for the affected individual. To treat a gummy smile with Botox, a small amount of the toxin is injected into the area between the nose and the upper lip.

Lip flip: A lip flip is a popular procedure that makes your lips look fuller without increasing the volume of your lips. The botulinum toxin relaxes the muscles around your upper lip, which makes your lip “flip” upward a tiny bit (eversion) and appear larger than normal.

Sad depressed look: Botulinum injections may be appropriate for people whose mouth corners naturally drawdown at rest which makes them look depressed or sad. This can also happen in patients with overactive Depressor Anguli Oris (DAO) muscles. The neuromodulator works by temporarily relaxing the downward pulling action of the DAO muscle.

Trap tox/ Shoulder countouring/ Barbie botox: This can ease tension and pain in the neck area as well as have a cosmetic effect.  Most of the patients she sees for trap Botox are seeking it to relieve neck and/or shoulder discomfort, although some do it purely for the neck-slimming effect.

Botulinum toxin for Excessive sweating

Botox injections can effectively treat hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating.
The common target areas for this treatment are:
Underarms: To reduce excessive sweating that can cause discomfort and embarrassment.

Palms: To reduce sweaty hands that can make everyday tasks challenging.

Soles of the feet: To alleviate excessive foot sweating that can lead to discomfort and odor.

Facial hyperhidrosis: To reduce the intensity of sweating on the face with ease.

Botulinum toxin injections are also administered for medical conditions such as chronic migraines, cervical dystonia, overactive bladder, strabismus and blepharospasms

How is the procedure done?

The purpose of this method of skin treatment is to inject a protein called botulinum toxin into the skin. This is done with the use of a very thin needle. Yes, there is a nominal feeling of something pinching. However, to eliminate this little feeling, we apply numbing cream on the skin before the procedure to minimize the effect. The process does not take more than 30-40 minutes to complete. Once injected, it relaxes the contracted muscle relieving the wrinkles and fine lines above.

It takes about 7-14 days for the entire result to kick in.

Mesobotox/Baby Botox

Botulinum toxin is widely known for anti-ageing abilities. Instead of just using botulinum toxin, mesotherapy or mesobotox uses diluted botox along with normal saline in small doses onto specific areas of your face.

It is mainly being used to treated mid-face, for example, smile lines and wrinkles around lips, mouth and neck.

With traditional Botox treatments, doctors inject Botox into the muscle layer. But mesobotox isn’t injected into the muscle. Rather, it’s injected into a deeper level of the skin, or dermis, resulting in:

How Is It Different From Botox?

Unlike a proper Botox session, baby botox uses botulinum toxin in small concentration in a higher volume. Instead of injecting it in the deeper layers of your skin, Meso Botox is injected into the inter-dermal layer of the skin.

How should I prepare for an antiwrinkle injection treatment?

Make sure you to inform us of a current list of the medications and supplements you consume. Certain medications increase the risk of bruising at the injection site. These include anticoagulants or blood thinners (Warfarin®) and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Alcohol also makes you more prone to redness and bruising. Don’t drink for 24 hours before a procedure.

What should I expect during Botox treatment?

A local anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area for 45 minutes. The injection points are marked clearly and a fine needle is used to inject small amounts of Botulinum into the treatment area. Depending on the concern, you may receive several injections in different spots.

What should I know about Botox aftercare?

To reduce redness, swelling or bruising:

  • Don’t rub or put pressure on the treatment area for 12 hours.
  • Stay upright (don’t lie down) for three to four hours.
  • Avoid physical exertion for 24 hours.
  • Avoid smoking and consumption of alcohol for the next 24 hours
How often should you get Botox?

On average, the effects of Botox last about three to four months. Retreatment is recommended at this time. Eventually, however, your muscles may train themselves to contract less. As a result, treatments can be spaced out over longer periods of time. Dr.Neha will let you know how often you should get antiwrinkle injections based on your unique needs.

Are there any Botox side effects?

Side effects from botulinum toxin injections vary depending on the area receiving treatment. Most issues are mild and improve in a day or two. Possible side effects include: Pain, swelling, redness or bruising at the treatment site.

However, side effects are unlikely to happen when the procedure is done by a board certified professional.

Who should not get Botulinum toxin injections?

Botox injections are relatively safe. Still, you shouldn’t get this treatment if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or have:

  • Neuromuscular disease.
  • Drooping eyelids (ptosis).
  • Weak facial muscles.
How long does it take for it to work?

After the treatment, most people notice the desired effects around the third or fourth day. Full results will be visible within 10 to 14 days.

Can Botox be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding?

There is limited research on the safety of Botox during pregnancy and breastfeeding. The manufacturer neither recommends against nor encourages it. It is important to discuss any concerns with a healthcare professional.

What can you expect during a mesobotox procedure?
