How is the procedure done?
The purpose of this method of skin treatment is to inject a protein called botulinum toxin into the skin. This is done with the use of a very thin needle. Botulinum toxin is widely known for anti-ageing abilities. Instead of just using botulinum toxin, mesotherapy or mesobotox uses diluted botox along with normal saline in small doses onto specific areas of your face.

To reduce redness, swelling or bruising:
- Don’t rub or put pressure on the treatment area for 12 hours.
- Stay upright (don’t lie down) for three to four hours.
- Avoid physical exertion for 24 hours.
- Avoid smoking and consumption of alcohol for the next 24 hours
On average, the effects of Botox last about three to four months. Retreatment is recommended at this time. Eventually, however, your muscles may train themselves to contract less. Side effects from botulinum toxin injections vary depending on the area receiving treatment. Most issues are mild and improve in a day or two. Possible side effects include: Pain, swelling, redness or bruising at the treatment site.
However, side effects are unlikely to happen when the procedure is done by a board certified professional.
Botox injections are relatively safe. Still, you shouldn’t get this treatment if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or have:
- Neuromuscular disease.
- Drooping eyelids (ptosis).
- Weak facial muscles.
