Morpheus 8 Resurfacing

Morpheus8 is a skincare treatment that combines the use of RF (radio frequency) and microneedling (often referred to as skin needling).

The fancy name for it is a “subdermal adipose remodelling device” or SARD. This essentially means it works on the layers under your skin (subdermal) and on the fat (adipose) to give it a new shape (bio-remodelling).

What Does Morpheus8 Treatment Help With?

Morpheus 8 treatment uses RF microneedling (radiofrequency energy) to work on things such as skin laxity, collagen and elastin production, acne scars, poor skin texture, body contouring, skin tightening and reducing the natural ageing process.

This FDA-cleared device uses tiny needles to deliver RF energy to different depths of the skin (3mm, 2mm, 1mm).  The needles and heat from the RF energy create micro injuries, which trigger your body’s natural healing response and promote the production of new collagen and elastin, to firm the skin and relieve fine lines and lax skin.

The treatment is most commonly used on the face and neck (especially to treat jowls and firm the jawline, under-eye area, and around the mouth), but it can be used just about anywhere on the body, including the abdomen, buttocks, chest, arms or knees.

Morpheus8 treatments can address a wide range of skin concerns. In experienced hands, it can:

  • Improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Firm and tighten mildly sagging skin
  • Smooth skin texture
  • Reduce the appearance of large pores
  • Treat acne scarring
  • Helps to fade stretch marks
  • Reduce some fat just below the skin (though not significantly enough to create facial volume loss)
  • Helps in minimizing cellulite.
  • Helps in remodelling of skin

For optimal results, most people need a series of up to three treatment sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart.

Stem cells of regenerative properties called exosomes are used in this treatment to get maximum benefits. Its regenerative properties accelerate the rejuvenation and collagen stimulating process

Chemical Reconstruction Of Scars

TCA is an abbreviation for trichloroacetic acid, which is typically used in low concentration (20–35%) for a chemical peel and improves the appearance of facial scars and skin ageing.

What is TCA CROSS and how does it work?

TCA CROSS is the chemical reconstruction of skin scars (CROSS) using trichloroacetic acid (TCA). It is most often used as an outpatient clinic procedure to treat atrophic acne scars. It’s inexpensive, safe and efficient, but is not always effective.

The TCA CROSS procedure involves depositing small amounts of TCA at high concentration (70–100%) onto the surface of the atrophic scar. This causes a local inflammatory reaction leading to the formation of new collagen fibres.

The aim is to improve the appearance of the scar by increasing collagen reflectance and reducing shadows cast over scar depressions.

Complete resolution is unlikely to be achieved with this treatment method alone.

SUBCUTANEOUS INCISIONAL SURGERY Aka. SUBCISION

Subcision is a minor surgical procedure used for treating depressed cutaneous scars and wrinkles. It is also called subcutaneous incisional surgery.

Subcision is performed using a special hypodermic needle inserted through a puncture in the skin surface. The sharp edge of the needle is used to break fibrotic strands that are tethering the scar to the underlying tissue.

The release of the fibrotic strands and new collagen deposition caused by wound healing leads to cosmetic improvement of the scar. It is accompanied by injection of PRP or skin boosters into the scar for better healing of scars. Subcision can be safely performed in the outpatient setting and is usually well tolerated.

What are the indications for subcision?

The decision to perform subcision will depend on the type, location, and severity of scarring; patient preference and expectations
Subcision may be used for the treatment of:
• Depressed distensile scars (due to acne, trauma, surgery )
• Depressed bound down scars (due to acne*, varicella (chickenpox), trauma, surgery.
• Cellulite dimples

It is used to treat ice-pick acne scars mainly
It is also used in softening the edges of box scars and rolling acne scars

What is the downtime and interval between TCA CROSS or a subcision procedures?

The healing period or downtime of the procedures mentioned above ranges from 3-7 days. Most patients require 3-6 treatments with TCA CROSS or subcision for optimum improvement. Treatments may be repeated at 4-6 weeks intervals.

Are threads effective in minimizing the appearance of acne scars?

To achieve the best results in treating acne scars, combination of PDO mono threads with scar subcision and PRP injections is done. Typically, 3-4 treatments are required with 2-month intervals between each treatment.

What are combination scar treatments and how are they effective?

Combination of scar revision treatments are more effective than solo treatments because patients typically have different types of scars that require volume restoration, tightening along with resurfacing. From the aforementioned modalities, Dr. Neha tailors the procedures according to the patient’s needs, tolerance, goals, expectations and limitations

Vampire Face Therapy

A Vampire Facial or PRP facial, combines microneedling (also known as collagen-induction therapy) with topical application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) derived from your own blood.

During a vampire facial, a small amount of your blood is drawn and spun in a centrifuge to separate the platelets rich in growth factors. These growth factors are key players in skin repair and regeneration. The separated plasma is then re-applied to your face, often after micro-needling, which creates tiny channels in your skin for the plasma to penetrate.

This process stimulates collagen production, promotes cell turnover, and helps to heal scars, including those caused by acne. It’s a natural approach to skin enhancement that can provide dramatic results.
